Popular Law Entrance Exams in India

Bachelors in law or ‘Legum Baccalaureus’ and Masters in law or ‘Legum Magister’ are law degrees in undergraduate and post-graduation respectively which are completed to practice as a lawyer in most common law jurisdiction areas around the world. Mostcountries such as the United Kingdom, India, China, Pakistan, Israel, Nigeria, etc award these degrees to law graduates. In the USA, the law degree was primarily called the same but was changed to ‘Juris Doctor’ degree in 1960’s.
In India, there are various law entrance exams that test the caliber and efficiency of students at various levels who wish to pursue a degree in Law.

 ALL INDIA BAR EXAMINATION {AIBE}
This is a national-level exam for law graduates who completed both 5-year and 3-year LLB, conducted by the Bar Council of India (BCI) to assess whether these graduates are eligible to practice in the court of law in India.

 COMMON LAW ADMISSION TEST {CLAT}
This is a centralized national level exam conducted for LLB (3 and 5 years) and LLM for law admissions in 22 National Law Universities. It is one of the toughest exams in India. The exam is conducted by CLAT Consortium.

 DELHI UNIVERSITY LLB& LLM ENTRANCE EXAM
The DU LLB and LLM exam is conducted by Delhi University, Department of Law for students who wish to pursue graduation and post-graduation from Delhi University.

 ALL INDIA LAW ENTRANCE TEST {AILET}
The National Law University, Delhi conducts the AILET examination for graduation and post-graduation in law to assess eligible candidates for admission to their university.

 LAW SCHOOL ADMISSION TEST INDIA {LSAT- India}
LSAT- India is a standardized test conducted the by Law School Admission Council to assess the eligibility of students for pursuing undergraduate and post-graduation in law from Indian Law Schools. The exam score is valid for 1 year.

 LAW SCHOOL ADMISSION TEST INDIA {LSAT}
LSAT (abroad) is a standardized test conducted by the Law School Admission Council to assess the eligibility of students for pursuing undergraduate and post-graduation in law from law schools in abroad countries such as the United States, Canada, Australia, etc or from the American Bar Council aggregated law schools. The exam score is valid for 5 years.

 ICFAI LAW SCHOOL ADMISSION TEST {ILSAT}
ILSAT is a law entrance exam conducted by ICFAI Law School for admissions in undergraduate and post-graduation law to their institution.

 ARMY INSTITUTE OF LAW, LAW ENTRANCE TEST{AIL-LET}
LET is conducted by the Army Institute of Law for the eligibility of admissions in undergraduation in law. It is conducted online mode for 2 hours. More than 80 seats are available along with the army personnel quota.

 COCHIN UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY, COMMON ADMISSION TEST-LLB {CAT-LLB}
It is a computer-based examination conducted by the U-university for admissions in undergraduation for law.

 INDIAN LAW INSTITUTE, COMMON ADMISSION TEST {ILI CAT}
It is an entrance exam conducted by the Indian Law Institute for admission of 1 year LLM course in the institute.
