The COVID 19 pandemic have locked everyone down indoors. Schools and work places were declared to be continued from home. During this transition India being a developing nation had to go through a lot of difficulties. For a long time classes were not resumed either physically or online. There was huge gap in syllabus and a lot of educational contents have to be completed.
Many universities faced issues of conducting exams, holding placements for their senior students who were passing out. There were great chaos in the education students.
Schools faced more problems there were many admissions, young pre-schoolers who were joining first time in school. This all came to halt due to the prevailing condition of COVID.
The education sector soon decided to resume classes and exams in online mode due to the never ending pandemic. But this decision had a lot of challenges:
1.Not all had personal gadgets in family. So it was difficult to share gadgets if children had classes in same hour
2.There were lot of infrastructural issues as Indian bandwidth were not advanced as western countries there were lot of issues regarding internet. Many states faced interrupted electricity.
3.There were lot of financial issues for citizens as well as governments. In India, large population falls under middle class family were it was difficult to afford such gadgets that could sustain the technologies used. The country too had to face economy crises as they had re-evaluate budget to a more serious causes (COVID). Which made it difficult to provide budget to education.
4.The poor section of the country who came to government schools had no other way to leave schools, though the government launched many schemes to cover their education. There was no one to assist the technologies that these children had never seen.
5.Gradual loss of interest among students and drop in attendance was a serious issue as children could not sit long for the monotonous lectures. The teachers could not provide much practical class. This led to huge gap in syllabus as students did not attend classes properly.
Though India faced so many issues in conducting online mode as it was first time that such a change came, India slowly and steadily transitioned to Online and Work from home methods by mid 2020.
