About the Ph.D.

A Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) is the highest academic degree awarded after completing a course of study. Ph.D.s are offered in a wide range of disciplines and require candidates to conduct original research that advances knowledge, culminating in a dissertation defended before a panel of experts. A Ph.D. is often essential for roles as university professors, researchers, or scientists. Graduates may use the title “Doctor” before their names in many jurisdictions.

Part-Time Ph.D.
  • Duration: 7–8 years.
  • Designed for candidates working in research organizations, academic institutes, or industries near the university.
  • Requires at least one year of work experience and an employer’s NOC.
